Who this covers

This policy applies to information gathered through the Delivery Lo app, website, email, text, and other electronic communication with us. By privacy we mean that data collected while you use our services is secured, maintained, retained, and protected from unauthorised access.

Value your privacy

At Delivery Lo, we take privacy seriously and treat your data as if it is our own. We keep your data safe and limit collection to what we need to offer the services customers expect.

Information we collect

We collect personal information from our app to understand and improve your experience. Visitors may refuse to provide information, which can limit access to some services. All information you provide must be true and accurate.

Personal details

This includes information that can identify a specific person, collected when you register, sign in through social platforms, or interact with our marketing. It includes:

  • First and last name, phone number, email address, billing address including postal code, and login credentials.
  • Limited information from third parties such as Instagram or Facebook, including followers, comments, and likes.
  • Search activity and downloads that happen through marketing campaigns.
  • Transactional information. Card details are encrypted and received through a payment gateway. When payment card information is received, it is encrypted to industry standards.
  • Posts on social media. Please post at your own risk and avoid sharing sensitive information there.

Other information

  • Contact information. Name, email addresses, phone numbers, and similar data.
  • Credentials. Passwords and other security information used for authentication and access.
  • Service usage. Account and channel activity, access times, IP address, pages and app screens viewed, and pages you visited before our app.
  • Push notifications. We may request to send notifications on behalf of ourselves or our users.
  • Geo data. We may request location from your mobile device to provide location-based services.
  • Mobile status. Whether the app is online or offline.
  • Applications. If you use the Delivery Lo app, we may collect information about the presence, absence, or details of other applications on your phone, across categories such as shopping, fashion, food, and travel, so we can personalise the experience.

We may automatically collect certain information about the devices you use to access the services, and about your use of the services, even if you use them without registering or logging in.

How we use information

  • Process your orders.
  • Respond to queries sent by email, call, or message.
  • Understand how people use the services, improve content and features, complete transactions, and make special offers.
  • Administer the services and diagnose technical problems.
  • Send communications you requested, or that may interest you, by email, post, phone, or another channel.
  • Send questions from other users that you may be able to answer if you registered with Delivery Lo.
  • Show ads that are relevant to you.
  • Generate reports and conduct research on our user base and usage patterns.
  • Administer contests and sweepstakes.
  • Provide customer support and policies about your account.
  • Carry out obligations and enforce rights under contracts with you, including billing and collection.
  • Notify you about changes to the services and let you use interactive features.
  • Any other way we describe when you provide the information, and any other purpose with your consent.

Information about friends

You can invite a friend with a referral code. If you ask a friend to join, we use that contact information only to process your request.

Vendors

We work with vendors that offer food, groceries, fruits, vegetables, stationery, and pick-and-drop. We collect vendor details such as name, location, email, and phone number, and list their products in the app. If you share a mobile number, we may contact you by text or call with important information. Contact a restaurant directly if you want to learn about its own privacy practices.

Sharing

We do not sell your data to third parties for promotional purposes. We may share information with third parties that work with or for us to provide the services, including payment processing, data delivery, hosting, security, analytics, marketing, legal, safety, and customer service.

We may also share information for legal reasons: to protect the rights, safety, and information of us or our users; to detect or correct fraud or a security concern; to investigate or enforce a violation of our terms or another policy; and to comply with a valid legal process, request, law, rule, or regulation.

We may share limited information with companies that use Delivery Lo, including how you interact with messages and content. Some features, such as sending messages on behalf of a company, may require us to share additional details such as name and email address.

In an acquisition, liquidation, bankruptcy, merger, sale, financing, or negotiation, we may share or transfer your information to another entity. Such a transfer could take place at any time, and an acquirer may continue to use your information.

Editing and correcting your details

To review, change, or delete personal information we have collected, or to permanently delete your account, use the helpline on this website or email us. We take steps to record the information you provide, and any updates, accurately. You may ask us to delete personal information that is inaccurate, incomplete, irrelevant for legitimate purposes, or processed in a way that infringes an applicable legal requirement. We respond to authentic requests. A request should not be abusive or unreasonable.

How we protect information

We use physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to help prevent unauthorised access and to maintain data security. These safeguards reflect the sensitivity of the information and the current state of technology. We follow generally accepted industry standards during transmission and after we receive information. Payment gateway and payment processing providers are validated as compliant with the payment card industry standard.

We assume no liability for disclosure caused by errors in transmission, unauthorised third-party access, or other causes beyond our control. You play an important role in keeping your information secure. Do not share your username, password, or other account security information. If we receive instructions using your username and password, we will treat those instructions as authorised by you.

Data retention and account termination

You can close your account from your profile settings in the app. We will remove your public posts from view and/or dissociate them from your profile, but we may retain information about you for the purposes authorised under this policy unless prohibited by law. After that, we will delete your personal information or de-identify it so it is anonymous and not attributed to you. We may also retain certain information for legal compliance, fraud prevention, and dispute resolution.
